The three Semi-Finalists from Group A of the Youth America’s Cup have been established following racing in brisk conditions off Barcelona.
Italy, the USA, and Great Britain will compete in the Semi-Final alongside the top three teams from Group B.
Racing also took place in the B Fleet for teams unaffiliated with America’s Cup teams.
The leading three teams from Groups A and B will converge for the Series Semi-Final.
A more favorable forecast was anticipated for Monday in the UniCredit Youth America’s Cup.
Winds of 8-12 knots were predicted to come in from the South, although there was a significant (0.8m) off-axis sea state to challenge the competitors. The wind proved stronger than expected, reaching up to 18 knots, testing the crews and resulting in some impressive foiling.
Both the A and B fleets raced today, attempting to make up for the racing lost since the series began due to poor weather or failure to meet the 7.5 knot minimum wind requirement.
For a complete replay:
Group A consists of teams affiliated with those entered in the 2024 America’s Cup. Group B includes invited teams without affiliation to an America’s Cup team, who completed their third day of racing in the elimination series for the UniCredit Youth America’s Cup.
