In 2023, Yamaha Motor Company launched a new product line. Among these is a powerful 450hp, 5.6-litre V8 offshore engine that enhances the performance of the XTO 425 model, featuring additional enhancements.
“To address the increasing electrical demands of larger boats, the Yamaha XTO Offshore 450 now includes enhanced charging capability, equipped with a three-phase, simultaneous charging system that offers substantial net amps at low rpm, which is crucial,” Yamaha stated in a press release.
This new model can generate up to 96 net amps per engine while in neutral, aided by Phase Angle Control, which creates an exceptionally strong magnetic field.
Yamaha further suggests that this magnetic field may allow for the elimination of an onboard generator — supporting air conditioning, stabilizers, refrigerators, speakers, and more.
Moreover, Yamaha unveiled F200/F150 Integrated Steering Models. These two outboards sport a fresh design and feature Yamaha’s renowned TotalTilt mechanism.
“Boats outfitted with electro-hydraulic steering systems provide smooth, responsive power steering fully compatible with the entire Helm Master EX system, including the complete Full Maneuverability Joystick package,” Yamaha announced.
The Helm Master EX also received upgrades to its Digital Electronic Controls and joystick-only control station.
“Boaters can now enjoy full maneuverability through Yamaha’s Joystick Station. Accompanied by the CL5 gauge, Emergency Stop switch, All Start/Stop switch, and newly designed harness, the Helm Master EX Joystick Station greatly enhances functionality while occupying minimal space.”
The new XTO Offshore 450 and F200/F150 integrated steering models, along with the updated Helm Master EX, will be available for sale in the spring of 2023.
