Sébastien Simon has achieved a new record for solo monohull 24-hour sailing, covering an impressive 602.56 nautical miles (equivalent to 1116 kilometers), with an average speed of 25.11 knots.
The Groupe Dubreuil skipper has surpassed the previous record by 22.7 nautical miles set by Yoann Richomme just two days ago.
Will Dalin leave the others behind?
We are at a pivotal moment in the Vendée Globe. With the fleet now dispersed across the South Atlantic Ocean, Charlie Dalin may benefit from the low pressure system as it moves towards the Ice Boundary south of the Cape of Good Hope.
If his competitors are unable to follow the same path and miss the wave, he stands a chance of creating a significant lead over the rest of the fleet.
Additionally, this morning we have an update from Boris Herrmann on Malizia-Seaexplorer.
