Camira… what a beautiful name for wind…
MYRIAD … this is the term that springs to mind when reflecting on the myriad seating configurations available for your guests aboard Windy’s 40 Camira RS. The Windy Design Team collaborated with internationally acclaimed Design Unlimited to create cockpit and interior options that transcend the usual expectations of boaters, representing a genuine advancement over any other 40-foot yacht in the market.
EXTERIOR
The first impression when you approach the yacht is its speed-focused design. Fast, indeed, since the Camira RS can soar across the waves at speeds exceeding 46 knots. Yet, with its deep-V hull form and full beam hardtop featuring an integrated sunroof that offers excellent weather protection, you are also assured that both you and your guests will safely reach your destination while enjoying the journey! The Camira RS is engineered to deliver both speed and safety on the water, whether heading out in the North Sea or enjoying a leisurely cruise to Annapolis.
The cockpit table aboard the Camira is a fusion of aesthetics and practicality. It can be folded in for more intimate gatherings or expanded to host larger parties. Six integrated drink holders are a considerate addition for your guests while on the move. With just the press of a button, the table lowers gently to create a more leisurely lounging area.
The aft sunbed can be adjusted for front- or rear-facing relaxation or configured centrally so everyone can choose their desired lounging spot with ease. Owners also have the choice of adding a complete wet bar with sink, fridge, and storage to the port side, or a chaise lounge for added seating in the cockpit. Choices such as hull color, upholstery, and other features are up to Windy’s discerning owners.
HELM STATION
Windy Boats takes special care in designing the helm station, providing plush seating that presents multiple driving options—regular captain’s chair, bolster seating, and beyond. If you prefer standing at the helm, simply press the Footrest button on the 19″ Garmin multi-function display (MFD) touchscreen, and a sturdy footrest will slide out beneath the captain’s seat to offer you a clear view from above while navigating. You might ask how to access the throttle, joystick, and bow thruster controls? Just tap the Throttle arm up logo on the screen, and the entire control panel elevates to fit your needs… Voilà! A practical touchpad for trim tab adjustments is conveniently placed beside the tilting steering wheel. A Fusion stereo control dock and complete surround sound system allow you to curate the ambiance for your outing. Cupholders for both the pilot and co-pilot finalize the ergonomic design.
FOREDECK
Four steps lead to the foredeck, complemented by sturdy, high-quality stainless steel rails through the windscreen that affirm the robust construction of the Camira RS. The foredeck is adorned with sun pads, and right on the bow is the Lewmar electric windlass, featuring protected foot controls, a thoughtful addition to avoid unintentional activation of the windlass. The bowsprit is constructed from heavy-duty stainless steel, strong enough to support any “photo op” your guests wish to pursue. A Thule rack is mounted on the rooftop, serving as a practical feature to transport waterboards and various sports equipment.
INTERIOR
Descending down the softly illuminated steps into the cabin, it’s time to prepare refreshments in a stylish galley equipped with overhead cabinets throughout. The galley cabinets are magnetized to keep glasses and dishes stable during turbulent conditions. A Bosch stove, combined oven/microwave, ice-maker, and wine cooler encompass everything you would need for lengthy outings.
The V-berth serves as an ideal gathering place if the weather takes a turn, featuring comfortable seating and another drop-down table that morphs the area into a spacious lounge. Skylights with retractable blinds provide ample illumination. There is impressive storage available on both the port and starboard sides, and the option to enclose the area with a bulkhead. A flatscreen TV and Dometic air conditioning are just a few of the amenities found within. Various options allow customization of the vessel according to specific preferences, including the possibility of a two-cabin layout toward the aft.
The spacious lavatory boasts a lavish separate shower compartment, upscale finishing touches, and a translucent skylight allowing natural light to filter in.
PERFORMANCE
Windy Boats maintains an open approach to powering their luxury cruisers. Traditional inboard alternatives include Twin Volvo Penta D6-400 DPI and 440 DPI engines or the Twin Yanmar 8LV370 ZT370. If you are drawn to the current trend in yachting, you can choose from several outboard options, including the Twin Yamaha 450 XTO or Triple Yamaha F300. The engine compartment is well-equipped with a generator, battery banks, Victron battery management system, blue smart chargers, and a built-in fire suppression system.
FINAL THOUGHT
If given the opportunity, a significant number of Camira owners would undoubtedly opt to never leave their boat. After all, why depart from something that is visually stunning and meets all your requirements?
