On Wednesday, December 4th, marking the 24th day at sea for the IMOCA Skippers, a deepening depression in the Indian Ocean is affecting the leaders in the Vendée Globe. Charlie Dalin aboard MACIF Santé Prévoyance and Sébastien Simon on Groupe Dubreuil have unexpectedly chosen to take the southern route. We explore the reasons this strategy could be advantageous for them.
