US Sailing is currently accepting nominations for the 2025 Kevin Burnham Memorial Award and applications for the Kevin Burnham Memorial Grant.
These two distinct honors were created in memory of Kevin Burnham, who was a 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist and 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist. The deadline to submit grant applications and nominations for the award is October 31, 2024.
Grants are available to sailors aged 31 years and younger who exhibit exceptional competitive sailing potential, possess a contagious enthusiasm, and participate in two-person Olympic class or Olympic Development class trapeze boats.

The award is presented each year to a competitor (or team) who best embodies Kevin’s spirit and exemplifies the following qualities: passion, perseverance, persistence, sportsmanship both on and off the water, love for the sport, and respect for fellow competitors.
