One of the major draws of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is that amidst the allure of the Classics and the Maxis, the Moderns class includes everyone from the tiniest day sailor to a TP52. Additionally, it encompasses boats from various modern eras.
Even better, all the Moderns are divided into general performance categories and are rated under IRC. This creates an appealing and straightforward experience for every owner.
Wednesday was a great day for the Moderns class, as rising nor’wester winds provided excellent racing conditions.
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez 2024 | Day 3 Classic Boats
Nearly 80 yachts are participating in the Classics class at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. The fleet ranges from Steve McLaren’s stunning 180-foot racing schooner ‘Elena of London’ to Peter Nicholson’s quaint 102-year-old 26.5-foot Solent Sunbeam ‘Dainty’.
All participants enjoyed a fantastic coastal race on Wednesday, taking advantage of a strong nor’wester as they sailed upwind toward the finish.
