Racing commenced this morning at 1100hrs CET in the Puig Women’s America’s Cup.
Four races took place with Sweden showing a strong performance.
Due to damage to one of the AC40s earlier today, racing for Group A of the Puig Women’s America’s Cup qualifiers will be postponed until Thursday, ensuring that all six teams have access to a race-ready AC40 that day.
Teams utilize shared AC40s and as such, GBR – who shares the Canadian AC40, which is now damaged and requires an overnight repair – was unable to compete this afternoon. To ensure fairness to all participants, racing for this afternoon was canceled.
On Sunday morning, a notice from race management stated that no racing would occur on Wednesday due to anticipated strong winds. This warning still stands.
Currently, there is a lack of consensus among the wind models regarding conditions for the weekend when the America’s Cup is set to commence. However, this uncertainty should be clarified as the week progresses.
