Henri-Lloyd has announced its sponsorship of Monty Halls’s Leaderbox Blue marine conservation initiative, which seeks to enhance citizen science research in ocean environments.
Leaderbox Blue is a novel marine conservation undertaking receiving support from Henri-Lloyd.
The globally recognized technical apparel brand has pledged to back the initiative, which strives to boost citizen science research in marine ecosystems.
This project is headed by marine conservationist and Yachting Monthly contributor Monty Halls.
Based on the belief that active involvement in marine conservation provides significant benefits, Leaderbox Blue invites citizen scientists to engage in practical projects.
Upon acceptance, a Leaderbox Blue kit will be dispatched containing all necessary materials for projects centered on key activities, including beach clean-ups, habitat restoration, biodiversity surveys, and awareness campaigns.

The kit includes activity and data cards, handouts, system documentation, a quick-start guide, risk assessments, and insurance paperwork. It also features data forms, collection tools, radios, gloves, and a first aid kit.
Those who are accepted will also gain access to a support network that includes a website, group forums, a helpline, and e-learning resources.
Leaderbox Blue’s objective is to initiate over 1,000 community-based marine conservation projects locally and globally within a five-year period.
The environmental initiative was unveiled during Dartmouth Royal Regatta Sailing Week, as Monty Halls resides in Dartmouth.
Amy Hawke, manager of the Henri-Lloyd store in Dartmouth, states that the company encourages anyone with a marine conservation project idea to apply for Leaderbox Blue in-store.
“Anyone can apply, be it individuals, families, or groups like wild swimming clubs, sailing or rowing teams, charities, schools, and communities,” she noted.
“Whether it involves organizing a beach clean-up, pledging to eliminate waste and plastic from coastlines, monitoring wildlife, or supporting an existing initiative, Leaderbox Blue empowers the realization of marine conservation projects and encourages more individuals to meaningfully contribute to citizen science efforts and safeguard the natural marine environment we cherish here in Dartmouth.”
