Line honors at the 2024 Rolex Middle Sea Race were claimed after an enthralling battle between two 100-foot (30.48m) Maxis.
Completing the 606-nautical mile course, Huang-Seng Lee’s Scallywag 100 (HKG) arrived in Malta at 09:43:29 CEST on Tuesday, 22 October, with a total elapsed time of two days, 21 hours, 33 minutes, and 29 seconds. This followed a fierce contest with Black Jack 100 (MON), which finished just under 19 minutes later.
As Scallywag 100 finished, 78 yachts remained in the race, with 33 official retirements noted.
The monohull race record for the Rolex Middle Sea Race stands at 40 hours, 17 minutes, and 50 seconds, a time set by Comanche in 2021.
Rolex has been a partner to both the event and its organizers, the Royal Malta Yacht Club, since 2002. A summary of the 45th Rolex Middle Sea Race will be released on Saturday, 26 October, detailing the race’s most prestigious accolade: overall victory on handicap.
