An impressive international fleet of 112 yachts from 30 nations are competing in the celebrated annual 606-nautical mile race that features an anti-clockwise loop around Sicily, including the iconic active volcanoes of Etna and Stromboli.
The swiftest Maxi yachts—like Scallywag 100 and Black Jack 100—are aiming for line honors as the first to finish. The current monohull race record stands at 40 hours, 17 minutes, and 50 seconds, set in 2021.
The most sought-after award, the Rolex Middle Sea Race Trophy, is given to the overall winner based on corrected time. The 2024 fleet includes several past race champions, such as last year’s winners Bullitt and Elusive 2 from Malta, which triumphed in both 2019 and 2020.
Rolex has been a partner of the race and its organizers, the Royal Malta Yacht Club, since 2002.
