The 2024 South American Championship is about to commence in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from November 20 to 23, uniting 31 teams from around the globe. Hosted at a stunning coastal venue in Buenos Aires, this championship will prominently feature teams from Argentina, alongside international competitors from Chile, the Netherlands, the U.S., Italy, Croatia, Brazil, and Germany.
District 18 is thrilled to announce its support for U30 teams from various districts, providing competitive boats at no cost, free accommodation, and a 50% discount on registration fees. This initiative aims to encourage broader participation and development in the sailing community by attracting young, emerging talents worldwide.
Event Schedule
The championship kicks off with registration, measurements, and crew weigh-ins on Wednesday, November 20, followed by the Opening Ceremony. Racing will begin on Thursday, November 21, featuring two races, with the first warning signal at 13:00, continuing until Saturday, November 23, when the Prize Giving Ceremony concludes the regatta. After each day’s racing, a social event will provide a chance for participants to network and celebrate.
The competition promises three exciting days of racing, each day featuring two races designed to challenge skill, strategy, and endurance. The final day will culminate with an awards ceremony to honor the top-performing teams.
