Rossinavi has revealed the delivery of its 42.8-meter hybrid-electric catamaran, Seawolf X, touted by the shipyard as its “most groundbreaking project” to date. The vessel has departed from Rossinavi’s facilities in Viareggio, Italy.
Designed by Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, Seawolf X marks Rossinavi’s initial entry into multihull construction. The catamaran offers three unique “performance scenarios,” enabling it to operate in full-electric mode for varying lengths based on the journey. On single-day excursions, it can operate entirely on electricity; during multi-day trips, it can sustain 90% electric cruising; and for transatlantic journeys, it can function in electric mode for 80% of the voyage. When docked, the yacht can activate a “hibernation mode” to reduce energy usage while also capable of returning generated energy to the shore or a private property. The vessel can be fully recharged in five hours and generates sufficient energy to power an entire villa.
This catamaran is equipped with an advanced artificial intelligence system, Rossinavi AI, which oversees the vessel’s functions, anticipates guest requirements, and guides the crew on eco-friendly cruising methods. The AI system regulates the battery pack to keep it within an optimal charging range.
The exterior design of Seawolf X boasts a low-profile aesthetic similar to that of a sports car. Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design aimed to redefine typical catamaran design, incorporating solar panels and lightweight materials to enhance efficiency and visual appeal.
Inside, New York’s Meyer Davis design firm has created a luxurious yet sustainable interior. Drawing inspiration from natural elements like the sun, sea, and sand, the decor harmonizes with the yacht’s state-of-the-art design.
Leisure amenities on Seawolf X comprise a cockpit with a central pool, an expansive sundeck with areas for sunbathing and relaxation, and a bow section featuring a concealed pool that can transform into a home theater. The yacht accommodates up to 10 guests across four cabins located within the hulls.
The catamaran also bears Rossinavi’s BlUE label, part of the shipyard’s eco-friendly design initiative introduced in 2022. The BlUE fleet draws inspiration from phytoplankton, utilizing photovoltaic technology that absorbs sunlight during the day and emits energy at night, generating a bioluminescent effect.
Seawolf X remains below the 500GT limit, with a beam measuring 13.8 meters and a maximum draught of two meters. Rossinavi is an Italian builder of custom steel and aluminum superyachts measuring 28m or larger. The Rossi shipyard was established in the 1970s and is situated in Viareggio.
