The Numarine 37XP yacht stands out with its impressive steel hull and features six guest cabins.

Camper & Nicholsons, the prestigious international yacht brokerage, charter, and services firm based in Monaco, alongside Numarine, the Turkish luxury explorer yacht manufacturer, announced in September their exclusive partnership for representing the shipyard in the Asia-Pacific region, effective immediately. This collaboration was initially discussed during the Monaco Yacht Show 2023.

Bengü Özdoğan, Numarine’s Sales and Marketing Director, shared with Yacht Style: “The partnership between Numarine and Camper & Nicholsons for the Asia-Pacific is a significant advancement, highlighting both firms’ acknowledgment of the luxury yachting sector’s growth potential in this area.”

“This collaboration seeks to bolster Numarine’s presence in this developing market. We believe Numarine’s innovative yacht designs, alongside its established reputation, combined with Camper & Nicholsons’ established networks and local knowledge, will effectively navigate the complex and varied markets within the Asia-Pacific region.”

“Camper & Nicholsons is one of the most esteemed names in yachting, with a credibility and trust developed over centuries. This gives us confidence that our yachts will be represented with the utmost professionalism and expertise.”

“It is also advantageous for us that Camper & Nicholsons’ extensive global network is notably strong in the rapidly growing markets of Asia-Pacific. Their profound understanding of these markets and existing relationships with prospective buyers were pivotal in Numarine’s decision.”

New Models Add To The Allure

Camper & Nicholsons view Numarine as a superyacht manufacturer with substantial appeal in the Asia-Pacific, fueling their enthusiasm for the partnership.

Julien Solari, Chief Commercial Officer of Camper & Nicholsons in Asia, commented: “Interest in Numarine yachts from Asian owners has dramatically increased, showing a growing appreciation for the brand’s unique offerings.”

“The 2024 Global Order Book indicates that Turkey has become the second-largest nation for superyacht construction, surpassing the Netherlands. This accomplishment highlights the exceptional quality of Turkish yachts and the confidence owners place in Turkish shipyards, with Numarine leading the 24-45m segment.”

Moreover, the Asia-Pacific region’s maritime landscape is promising. “Its expansive, stunning coastlines offer a fantastic opportunity for exploration,” Solari stated. “After using traditional planing-hull yachts, many yacht owners in Asia are now attracted to vessels that provide a greater range to discover these less-trafficked waters.”

“The challenge lies in meeting the desire for long voyages with the limited marina space, which often requires yachts to be under 50m. Numarine perfectly meets this demand, delivering reliability and comfort at sea.”

“Additionally, in cities like Singapore and Hong Kong, where socializing onboard is a valued tradition, Asian yacht owners appreciate vessels that offer ample entertaining space. The spacious upper deck and flybridge of Numarine’s larger XP models provide ideal venues for such occasions.”

Solari also mentioned that with this strategic partnership, Camper & Nicholsons plans to utilize its extensive presence and expertise in the Asia-Pacific to exclusively market and sell “Numarine’s outstanding yachts.”

At this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, Numarine showcased its flagship 37XP and introduced its 30XP, the shipyard’s inaugural model featuring diesel-electric propulsion.

On the 37XP, outdoor lounge sofas and armchairs are generously sized.

“We were excited to reveal the new and much-anticipated 30XP – featuring greatly expanded exterior spaces, clever aft design, and a convenient side garage – at the Cannes Yachting Festival, alongside the flagship 37XP. Many clients from the Asia-Pacific have shown significant interest in the XP line.”

Partnership Built On Past Projects Together

The relationship between Camper & Nicholsons and Numarine has developed over several years, but it was in recent months that this collaboration was formalized. With the Turkish yard achieving notable success in the US and European markets lately, both parties were eager to advance discussions for collaboration in the Asia-Pacific.

The 37XP features a warm color palette and luxurious textures in its lounge and dining spaces.

Camper & Nicholsons’ management and brokers report that the XP explorer superyachts are Numarine’s most appealing models for Asian clients.

“The 32XP and 37XP have been highly successful steel-hull ‘pocket explorers,’ achieving remarkable success in Europe and even greater acclaim in the US,” Solari explained. “Notably, many of these buyers were not first-time purchasers; they had clear expectations about their next yacht, from range to comfort, stability, and toy-carrying capacity.”

“Choosing Numarine reflects how deeply this shipyard can meet the needs of our most experienced clients. Numarine’s partnership with Hot Lab, a design studio that Camper & Nicholsons has collaborated with recently, has led to contemporary and sophisticated interiors for these yachts.”

The 37XP’s communal indoor areas feature large windows and can easily open up to the deck.

“Looking forward, the forthcoming 40MXP represents a natural evolution from the 37XP, maintaining its core successful features while introducing a large beach-club terrace on the main deck with a pool.”

Perfectly Suited To The Asia-Pacific

Anticipating this collaboration, Solari noted the Asia-Pacific’s rich cruising opportunities available in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and China.

“One major advantage in this region is that yacht owners can enjoy their vessels year-round, with a peak season constantly nearby. With a yacht boasting a range of 6,000nm, there’s so much to explore in the Asia-Pacific,” he remarked.

Numarine’s flagship 40MXP explorer is set to be released in 2025.

Numarine is keen to increase its recognition in this part of the world. “The Asia-Pacific region is one of our currently untapped markets,” Özdoğan noted. “We have had clients from this region, but we aim to grow those numbers through our partnership with Camper & Nicholsons, reflecting our strategic focus on this burgeoning market.”

“Notably, Hong Kong and Singapore stand out for their well-established maritime infrastructure and sizable populations of high-net-worth individuals (HNWI). Southeast Asia, with its healthy ultra-HNWIs population and growing yachting culture, is a market where we want to see our yachts.”

“This demographic is increasingly interested in not only yacht ownership but also adventure and exploration, aligning perfectly with Numarine’s brand message of innovation and exploration. Additionally, there is a cultural shift in the region towards a more marine-oriented lifestyle.”

The upcoming 40MXP will offer extensive volumes.

“In terms of yachting trends, the Asia-Pacific is poised to become a significant market for explorer yachts, as these regions are perfectly suited to the capabilities of yachts designed for long-range cruising. The rising interest in charter presents an opportunity for owners, as most of the XPs we’ve sold operate in light charter and get rapidly chartered when available.”

Numarine believes the upcoming 30XP will be well-received in the region, especially as sustainability becomes a more important factor in luxury purchasing decisions among millennials and younger HNWIs, who increasingly prefer to invest in products that reflect their values, such as sustainability.

The 40MXP includes extensive deck and beach club space.

The 30XP is designed to offer a serene experience at sea, with sustainable energy features incorporated into its modern design, including solar panels that enhance fuel efficiency.

“Furthermore, Australia seems to be emerging as a significant market for Numarine in the foreseeable future,” Özdoğan noted.
