Nor-tech center-console

Center-console boats have been essential to Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats, which began 30 years ago crafting high-speed catamarans and V-bottoms. Their latest model, the 400 Sport, premiered in February at the Miami International Boat Show.
This new vessel is an extension of the company’s well-received 390 Sport, the best-selling boat in Nor-Tech’s history.

“The 39 is an ideal size, so we made (the 400) slightly larger and incorporated many new features such as a glass windshield, a front entrance to the cabin, and a table that extends to the floor,” explained Trond Schou, co-founder of Nor-Tech Boats. “It’s nearly a 100-mph boat with the quad setup, which is very popular right now.”

The V-bottom will come in either a triple or quad configuration, featuring power exclusively from Mercury Racing. Due to its popularity, Nor-Tech has reportedly received over 50 new orders, including a Canadian dealer that purchased 14 boats.

The 400 Sport will retain numerous features like a helm featuring dual Garmins and a spacious glass windshield. The roomy cabin is designed for two occupants and includes a Vacu-Flush toilet.

“We appreciate that size because it’s easily trailerable, very user-friendly, and can fit in various storage spaces like spare homes,” Schou added. “It’s an excellent boat size.”

Nor-Tech now offers six center-console models, ranging from 34 to 55 feet.
