Coquine![design], Acoya Design House, and KOJA Design have unveiled a new 60-meter concept named Hippolyta. This superyacht features an exterior inspired by vintage yachts—incorporating elements such as the shape of the glazing and funnel—while balancing them with contemporary, minimalist details.
“We aimed to avoid creating a ‘retro’ yacht by merely imitating past designs,” explained Christian Leyk of Coquine![design]. “Our objective was to design a yacht that captures the essence of a particular era without directly reproducing historical styles.”
Hippolyta will be constructed from steel and aluminum.
The yacht offers accommodation across five cabins, including an owner’s suite with a daybed and sofa seating, as well as additional quarters for 16 crew members. The interior design is credited to Anja Carlsson of Acoya Design House and Natalie Fogelström at KOJA Design, who chose a minimalist decor influenced by Scandinavian design. The materials used include “responsibly sourced” teak, mahogany, and recycled metals.
A standout feature is the main saloon, which opens up to the beach club pool and lounge area. Renderings reveal a bright, airy space enhanced by floor-to-ceiling windows and a white and grey color scheme, with dark woods providing a striking contrast.
The sundeck serves as the entertainment hub, equipped with a Jacuzzi and a selection of sun loungers, while a lounge and bar area can be accessed through sliding glass doors.
Hippolyta also includes a wellness area and storage for tenders and toys, accommodating tenders, Jet Skis, and other water sports equipment.
In Greek mythology, Hippolyta was the queen of the Amazons.
The yacht will be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system, allowing for a cruising speed of 15 knots, a maximum speed of 18 knots, and a range of 3,500 nautical miles.
This summer, Coquine![design] shared the 68-meter explorer concept Passepartout with BOAT International, while Acoya Design House recently collaborated with Norwegian designer Kurt Strand Design on a 77-meter concept named Silence.
