Silent Yachts will present its groundbreaking SY62 3-Deck Open at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show 2024, marking its eagerly awaited US debut from October 30 to November 3, 2024.
Expanding upon the successful SY62 design, the SY62 3-Deck Open incorporates an open-sided third deck specifically crafted for socializing, offering a flexible living environment. Its remarkable hardtop design boasts 60 square meters of customisable space, ideal for various configurations ranging from lounge seating and dining arrangements to gym equipment and a Jacuzzi.
“The SY62 3-Deck is impressing boat enthusiasts, and this inaugural Open variant emphasizes the benefits of the additional area,” stated Fabrizio Iarrera, CEO of Silent Yachts. “With sleek curves and over 240 square meters of usable deck, this compact superyacht stands as an extraordinary example of electric sailing.”
Perfect for warmer regions like Florida, the Open model’s elegantly-supported hardtop allows for nearly unobstructed 360-degree vistas. The generous shade offered creates a pleasant outdoor atmosphere, featuring a three-stool wet bar, comfortable seating in weather-resistant Sunbrella fabric, and adaptable high-low tables for casual coffee breaks or formal dining experiences.
This yacht transforms the concept of ‘cockpit’ with dual helm stations both on the flybridge and within the saloon, while the spacious aft deck serves as a social space with integrated lounging and dining features along with optional conveniences like a grill and refrigerator. Steps leading to the hull skirts simplify access to marina docks, and the teak-lined bathing platform can also function as a tender lift capable of supporting a boat weighing up to 500kg.
Additional outdoor areas can be found on the forward lounge or sunbed located on top of the master cabin, providing unique views and options for sunbathing or relaxation. The flow between the 50 square meter saloon and outdoor zones is seamless, facilitated by sliding doors and substantial counter space in the aft galley.
Silent Yachts’ dedication to electric power is evident in the SY62 3-Deck, which includes twin engines yielding up to 340kW and a large battery bank of up to 286kWh. This catamaran achieves cruising speeds of 6-8 knots while enabling silent operation, thanks to effective management of premium lithium-ion cells.
Fitted with a 16.8kW solar panel setup, the yacht proficiently generates power, reducing the need for generators and elevating the experience of overnight anchoring in serenity. Steve Bell, Vice Chairman of the Board, highlights the appeal of the yacht’s noise-free operation, which enriches the onboard lifestyle.
Owners can select between a forward exit leading to a recessed lounge or a centrally located master cabin spanning the hulls. This flexibility offers a shaded seating area with breathtaking views or a private stateroom featuring an en-suite bathroom and generous storage space.
The first SY62 3-Deck Open features modern interior design with customizable finishes, blending cream leather, grey upholstery, and natural wood details. With ample storage solutions, including 11 square meters of bow space, the yacht accommodates diverse recreational requirements, ensuring that everything from paddleboards to spare components can be stored effortlessly.
Silent Yachts is constructing the world’s first fully solar-sustainable oceangoing production catamaran yachts. They operate entirely on solar energy and are capable of cruising up to 100 miles daily. In 2009, founders Heike and Michael Köhler, who have spent 6,000 days cruising over 75,000 miles globally, launched the Solarwave 46, the first fully self-sufficient blue-water catamaran after extensive testing of solar-powered propulsion, and they have continued building vessels since then.
