by Lagoon Catamarans, 15 Sep 08:03 UTC

The Lagoon team has crafted this latest model with one distinct goal: to allow your emotions to set sail. Onboard the EIGHTY 2, every detail has been meticulously designed to provide an experience that goes well beyond ordinary cruising.

The blend of space, comfort, and innovation turns each voyage into an authentic sensory delight, delivering memorable moments for everyone onboard throughout the journey.

Embracing the ocean, the EIGHTY 2 is a realization of the aspiration to escape the mundane.

The architects, alongside the owners and crew of the SEVENTY 7, have been integral in the development of the EIGHTY 2. This collaboration embodies both tradition and innovation, bestowing a narrative to each line and curve of this new model—a unified vision that comes alive through the designs and expresses pure emotion.

In the pursuit of perfection, Lagoon has closely worked with creative minds like Patrick Le Quément, whose early sketches provide the foundation for this new model.

These sketches go beyond mere drawings; they reflect a thoughtful process where each line embodies a concept, an emotion, and a desire to craft something genuinely exceptional.

“Designed for sailing, this new model epitomizes timelessness. It is an iconic yacht.” – Thomas Gailly, Lagoon Brand Director.

An aft cockpit seamlessly blending with the sea

Step aboard to take in a stunning view of the ocean. The EIGHTY 2 is engineered to provide unparalleled access to the water. Together with family and friends, relish the simple luxury of a sunset at sea, creating the ideal summer evening.

The aft swim platform invites you to dive in

When deployed, the aft swim platform of the EIGHTY 2 can expand up to 22 m2, serving as an extension of the cockpit. Designed to accommodate your preferences and voyage plans, it can integrate a tender or jet ski, and serves as the perfect spot for memorable dives.

Ease of access to a comfortable flybridge

The stairway is designed with simplicity and functionality in mind. It provides access to the flybridge with a safe and gentle incline.

“You’ll find yourself drawn to the stairs that lead comfortably to the flybridge, where an expansive living area awaits—perfect for countless moments of enjoyment… gently rocked by the waves and basking in the glow of a golden sunset.” – Patrick le Quément, exterior Design.

A customizable flybridge for your personal touch

The flybridge, nearly 50 m2 in size, offers an extraordinary panoramic horizon view. It also serves as a place for personal expression, where loose furniture can be arranged according to individual taste. This allows future owners to tailor the flybridge to reflect their unique style.

Dual helms for effortless handling

The flybridge features twin helms, creating a designated area for sail management and optimizing space on the lower decks. The advantage of these twin helms is the direct approach to all lines and winches. The mast placement provides generous relaxation space between destinations.

Harness solar energy with integrated solar panels

The bimini and coachroof of the EIGHTY 2 come equipped with solar panels to power onboard equipment. Smartly integrated with a well-designed Lithium battery pack, they enable owners to make the most of renewable resources during prolonged anchoring.

Cherish shared moments together

On the Foredeck of the EIGHTY 2, the forward cockpit acts as a genuine lounge on the water. Partially shaded and seamlessly connected to the bar area of the saloon via a door and an opening window, this space naturally extends the interior saloon.

Cleverly designed to host up to eight people, it provides a welcoming atmosphere perfect for relaxation.

Guests can savor breathtaking panoramic views while enjoying protection from the sun and breeze, thanks to a sun awning.

Smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor

Thanks to flush floorboards, the saloon flows effortlessly to both the aft and forward cockpits, ensuring easy movement across the catamaran between various living areas. Inside, the spacious saloon offers multiple distinct areas for different moments of life.

Large windows to enjoy the horizon

Living areas on this catamaran are designed to facilitate a natural lifestyle with unrestricted freedom. The interior facing the exterior mirrors seaside villa design elements, providing a 360-degree view of the horizon.

“Modern and luxurious, welcoming and relaxing, cool and bright: this new yacht features innovative, contemporary interior design with an endlessly timeless style.” – Massimo Gino, Interior Design.

The owner’s cabin, featuring a king-sized bed, offers a view of the sea, while the private terrace and relaxation areas create a true sanctuary.

“We focused on the smallest details, as nothing can be considered merely a detail; design is a holistic approach, where each element adds to the overall charm.” – Patrick le Quément, Exterior Design.

More eco-friendly resin

The Lagoon Research & Development team has collaborated for years with advanced suppliers. This partnership has allowed us to introduce a resin that is classified as “low carbon.”

Our commitment to R&D

Non-structural parts have been produced for several years using this bio-sourced resin and hemp fiber. Utilizing this new resin for constructing the hulls of the EIGHTY 2 marks a significant advancement in the industry, having passed all necessary structural and quality tests.

Composition

Traditional resins are made from components entirely derived from petroleum. In contrast, the low-carbon resin comprises 100% bio-sourced, recycled material, resulting in a 50% reduction in the carbon footprint of the resin itself. With this next-generation resin, Lagoon is reducing 10 tons of CO2 emissions for each boat produced. This innovation is part of the Groupe Beneteau’s initiative to decrease the carbon footprint by 30% by 2030.

Founded on excellence

Since Lagoon’s inception, day after day, year after year, the Lagoon team has remained dedicated to a relentless pursuit of excellence—an exacting and ongoing quest.

A distinctive experience

Lagoon specialists guide future owners through the purchasing process, from defining their catamaran to exploring customization options that make their yacht stand out. Whether customizing their future vessel, visualizing hull colors, or selecting interior layouts, wood finishes, or upholstery, the Lagoon crew provides customers with renowned expertise and wholly tailored service.

“Since the beginning, we have proudly built a total of 88 boats over 75 feet, comprising 52 Seventy 7S and Seventy 8S, alongside 36 unique custom builds.” – Thomas Gailly, Brand Director.
