As Bill Tweedie of MYCO Trailers prepares for retirement, the trailer manufacturer has designated two executives to guide the organization.

Ronnie Moran, a long-time employee of 14 years at MYCO, has been appointed vice president of sales and corporate office manager. Jon Smiley, who boasts over 20 years of experience in marine product sales and management, will oversee business development and outside sales efforts.

This appointment of new leadership comes as Tweedie, the face of MYCO Trailers for 35 years, is set to retire while still serving as a consultant. MYCO stands as the top manufacturer of trailers for center-console and performance boats.

Moran is responsible for internal sales, and most clients engage with her when seeking quotes, placing orders, or receiving deliveries for new trailers or dry rack cradles. Before joining MYCO Trailers, Moran had a career in the banking sector.

Smiley joins MYCO following his tenure as the harbor master at Sanibel Harbour Yacht Club in Fort Myers, Florida. He collaborated with MYCO to implement dry rack cradles at the marina’s storage facility to address challenges with storing stepped-hull boats. According to Smiley, this change led to a notable decrease in damage claims. He is also an offshore boat racer and participates in auto endurance racing.

Located in Bradenton, Florida, MYCO Trailers was established in 1974, and Tweedie became part of the company in 1979, directing sales and marketing efforts. Tweedie mentioned that he expects to transition into retirement within the coming weeks, yet will continue to serve as a consultant for MYCO.
