The Multihull Cup is gearing up to celebrate the thrilling domain of performance catamaran and trimaran sailing as its sixth edition is set to kick off in just a month.

Spanning three days of racing from the 27th to the 29th of September, Port Adriano’s exclusive marina will host the event once again in the stunning southwest region of Mallorca, which boasts an amazing setting for the on-water action.

Organizers are eager to welcome back two former Multihull Cup champions: the 84′ Nigel Irens-designed catamaran Allegra, the winner in 2021, along with the MC60 Dragon, returning from Australia to strive for her second win since 2019.

Initially, there were hopes for the 2022 winner Coco de Mer’s participation, but delays in her refit have resulted in her absence.

Joining the fleet in 2024 will be Highland Fling 18, an 80-foot custom VPLP design maxi-multihull looking to enhance her impressive performance since she was launched last year.

Last year, she and Allegra competed at the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, where Adrian Keller’s Swiss multi emerged victorious, and they will face each other again at the 2024 Rolex Cup in early September — paving the way for yet another exciting match-up shortly after at the Multihull Cup.

“The competition promises to be thrilling, with friendly rivalries expected to unfold,” said Multihull Cup Event Director Andrea Grimm. “The racing conditions in this part of Mallorca consistently provide an exceptional playground, and Port Adriano will undoubtedly once again be a wonderful host for the event.”

The delightful Coast by East venue in Port Adriano will serve as the hub for shoreside activities, with North Sails and Rigging Projects as key sponsors.

After registration on Thursday, September 26, racing will commence on Friday and run until Sunday, September 29, culminating in a celebratory prize-giving ceremony.
