Mercury Racing is currently engaged in a vibrant 50th anniversary celebration, which they plan to continue into 2024 with the inaugural Mercury Racing Owners Poker Run scheduled for Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The event is tentatively planned for four days, from June 20-23, 2024. With assistance from the Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau, Mercury Racing has enlisted experienced event planner Shannon Radtke for the occasion.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Mercury Racing, the City of Oshkosh, and Shannon Radtke,” stated Jodi Jensema, Discover Oshkosh Sales and Services Manager, in a press release. “Mercury Racing has significant roots in Oshkosh, and we are delighted that they wish to involve the Oshkosh community. Lake Winnebago and the Fox River will provide an excellent venue for showcasing these extraordinary boats, and we eagerly anticipate being part of this inaugural event.”
According to Mercury Racing, initial plans comprise a multi-stop powerboat poker run throughout the Lake Winnebago basin, alongside a live concert at a sandbar, a powerboat parade in the streets, a street dance, and factory tours of Mercury Racing. The event aims to be family-friendly and welcoming to all boats and boaters – powered by Mercury Racing.
“We’re excited to host Mercury Racing owners and the performance boat community in Oshkosh for this event,” expressed Stuart Halley, General Manager of Mercury Racing, in a statement. “The 50-year legacy of Mercury Racing began right in Oshkosh along the Fox River, making this an ideal location for the Wide Open crowd to convene for an event that promises something enjoyable for everyone in the family.”
