Elsa Peretti never fantasized about having castles in the sky, nor did she hope for money to sprout from trees. Although born into wealth, the Italian model-turned-designer was financially cut off at 21 and had to climb her way up. She supported herself through teaching Italian and skiing before venturing into modeling, which brought her to New York. There, new opportunities emerged that allowed her to display her skills.

Peretti started designing for American fashion designer Halston and even had the chance to model her creations on his runway. Halston later introduced her to Tiffany & Co., and whether by luck or her indisputable talent, it took just 15 minutes for her to land the job. Five decades later, her work continues to be iconic and celebrated.
In honor of Peretti’s iconic design’s 50th anniversary, the House introduced the Bone cuff as a part of its “With love, Since 1837” campaign. Relaunched earlier this year, the campaign celebrates the love, craftsmanship, and rich history that defines Tiffany & Co., drawing inspiration from legendary window designer Gene Moore. It highlights the untold stories behind Tiffany’s most iconic jewelry collections while modernizing Moore’s famous displays through imaginative storytelling.

The imagery of the Bone cuff, in particular, acknowledges Peretti’s cultural influence in both fashion and design. A floating hand gesturing upward alludes to her signature modeling stances, while a ladybug perched on the index finger pays tribute to the renowned Bone cuff advertisement photographed by Hiro, Peretti’s close friend and photographer.
Becoming One with the Body
(TIFFANY & CO.)The Bone cuff is as modern and timeless as ever, featuring a sensual, sculptural design. The craftsmanship is precisely sculpted to conform to the curves of both the left and right wrists, allowing the cuff to seamlessly integrate with the body. It has also been transformed into various other designs, maintaining the same conceptual intent.
(TIFFANY & CO.)Similar to the Bone cuff, the Bone ring demonstrates Peretti’s ability to turn simple shapes into icons of beauty and sophistication. The Split ring introduces a subtle twist with its central divide while still preserving the graceful curvatures of Peretti’s Bone cuff.
Few designs withstand the passage of time, but Peretti’s jewelry continues to enchant with its lasting style and allure.
The Tiffany & Co. Bone Cuff by Elsa Peretti collection is now accessible in stores and online.
