Kojiro Shiraishi is the captain of the IMOCA DMG MORI competing in the Vendée Globe. At 26, he set the record as the youngest sailor to accomplish a non-stop solo circumnavigation and has finished 2nd twice in the solo BOC Challenge.
He is also an avid Star Wars enthusiast, with Obi-Wan Kenobi being his favorite character.
This marks his third Vendée, after participating in 2016 and 2020. On February 11, 2021, he became the first Asian sailor to finish the Vendée Globe, placing 16th.
With his previously used boat, upgraded with new foils, he aspires to secure a top 8 finish in this edition.
