Pelorus Yachting has revealed plans for Hermes, a mega catamaran that will blend luxury and adventure in one of the world’s most remarkable locations. Olivia Palamountain reports.

Pelorus Yachting, known for its expertise in adventure charters and expeditions, has announced a remarkable expansion to its fleet.

The 50m Hermes, the first ultra-luxury catamaran to operate in the Galapagos Islands, is set to launch in April 2025. Its introduction will mark it as the largest ultra-luxury catamaran available for charter worldwide.

Currently under construction, this family-owned expedition yacht will accommodate up to 20 guests in 12 exquisitely designed cabins, each with a walk-in wardrobe, mini bar, and ample living space. In an unprecedented move for the area, each suite will include a private jacuzzi and balcony, offering spectacular views of the archipelago.

Modern relaxation areas create perfect environments for socializing, while a variety of wellness experiences, featuring a Hammam and massages with biodegradable products, prioritize guests’ well-being.

Hermes aims to merge the closeness of a small expedition vessel with the amenities found on a larger ship. A crew-to-guest ratio nearing 1:1, along with butler service, ensures an unmatched level of personalized care.

Two knowledgeable naturalist guides will be on board to lead insightful excursions, with the possibility of including a scientist for on-site research.

Activities will include demonstrations of Ecuadorian cooking, hiking, and water sports like snorkelling, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding.

In alignment with Pelorus’ environmental commitment, guests can engage in a reforestation initiative in Santa Cruz, supervised by the yacht’s owners, allowing them to make a positive ecological impact.

Masterfully crafted specifically for Galapagos waters, Hermes provides the flexibility to explore some of the archipelago’s most distant and lesser-known islands.

Pelorus Yachting is currently taking charter inquiries for 2025, with weekly rates starting from $246,905. This all-inclusive price encompasses meals, select beverages, excursions, park fees, and access to onboard facilities and equipment.
