Rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) have expanded beyond their traditional role as tenders and gained popularity in the mainstream market. A prime example is the brand-new Highfield Sport 800, which delivers comparable features and luxury to full-fiberglass models.

The Highfield Sport 800 was unveiled at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, where Highfield Boats president Christophe Lavigne announced a partnership with Nuova Jolly rigid inflatable boats for the U.S. market, further enhancing Highfield’s product range. These Italian-made Nuova Jolly boats will be manufactured at a new facility in Michigan.

One standout feature of the Sport 800 is its aluminum deep V-hull, ensuring superior stability and handling in diverse sea conditions. The RIB-specific tube design contributes additional buoyancy and shock absorption, improving ride safety and comfort.

The Sport 800 is available with a range of engine options, from high-performance outboards to environmentally friendly electric motors, allowing users to personalize their boat according to their preferences and intended applications.

“With our new partnerships and investments in sustainable technology, our dealers and their customers will have a broader selection of propulsion packages to equip their Highfield RIBs to their liking,” stated Christophe Lavigne, president of Highfield Boats USA, in a press release.

The console on the Sport 800 is thoughtfully designed for ergonomics, placing controls within easy access while maintaining a clear sightline. The boat incorporates integrated navigation systems and contemporary digital displays, with an optional carbon fiber dash available. The Sport 800 (26’ 7” overall length, 9’ 8” beam) features a table, sun deck, and a platform equipped with a ladder.

To bolster safety on the 26-foot vessel, Highfield has strategically positioned grab handles, non-slip deck surfaces, and comprehensive navigation lighting.

The Sport series by Highfield has taken nine years to develop, offering models ranging from 10’ to 26’. The Sport 800 boasts a 26-degree deadrise, and a self-draining deck is standard. Towing eyes are included for pulling children around the water.

At a weight of 2,500 pounds, the Sport 800 is easy to tow, launch, and recover due to its lightweight design. Integrated lifting eyes assist crews in moving the RIB from the ship to the water.

The boat comes with a two-year warranty for the entire vessel, and Highfield backs the hull with a five-year warranty.
