Sea Hunt Boat Company has become part of the group of center-console makers that include Garmin marine electronics as standard gear on every new vessel.
Beginning in November, Sea Hunt introduced electronics packages that feature chartplotters, VHF radios, and autopilots as standard features. Each boat will include a Garmin VHF 110 marine radio with Digital Selective Calling (DSC) capabilities, and select packages also come with the Reactor™ 40 Hydraulic Autopilot, which includes a solid-state 9-axis attitude heading reference system (AHRS).
“We’ve experienced a substantial rise in the number of boats ordered with Garmin electronics packages, so we’re thrilled to have Garmin as our exclusive supplier moving forward,” stated Bubba Roof, president of Sea Hunt Boat Company, in a press announcement. “We are committed to providing our customers with the finest options and features available in the industry, and Garmin offers the perfect blend of top-tier technology and user-friendliness that our customers seek.”
Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of global consumer sales, remarked, “It’s gratifying to see Garmin evolve over the years from an optional electronic choice for Sea Hunt customers to now being offered as standard factory equipment. In collaboration with Sea Hunt, Garmin is dedicated to presenting customers with the best options and features while on the water, and we eagerly anticipate doing that for many years ahead.”
Sea Hunt will be installing electronics packages at the factory that boast cutting-edge technology customers can expect from Garmin, such as the 12-inch GPSMAP 1242xsv Touch all-in-one touchscreen chartplotter/combo and the 9-inch GPSMAP 942xs chartplotter/combo, both featuring built-in CHIRP traditional sonar. Each chartplotter comes preloaded with BlueChart® g3 charts and LakeVü g3 maps that incorporate Navionics data to deliver the most precise detail and coverage currently available to navigators.
Sea Hunt produces center-console models ranging from 18 to 30 feet. The boats are assembled in South Carolina.
Earlier this year, Garmin announced that their electronics would also be standard on Regulator Marine beginning with the 2020 model year. Regulator will be equipping their boats over 28 feet with factory-installed GPSMAP 8600 chartplotter models, featuring dual 16- or 17-inch displays. Every boat will also include a Garmin VHF marine radio as standard equipment.
