The Austrian shipyard, accompanied by its official Italian dealer Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli, is focusing on renewable energy at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, thanks to an extraordinary partnership with Porsche and its unwavering commitment to innovation. Featured at the French event are the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, the new version of the 1017 GT, as well as the 1212 Ghost Air and 1414 Demon.
Innovation and Perfection
The new Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air represents the perfect marriage of zero-emission e-drive technology and a sporty lifestyle. Regarding the special collaboration with the sports car manufacturer, Stefan Frauscher, Managing Director of the shipyard, remarked,
“Frauscher has held a unique position in the nautical world for years: we have specialized in electric boats since 1955; at the same time, Frauscher is renowned for its high-performance powerboats, capable of withstanding even the roughest waters. As the only boatyard integrating both realms, we were the perfect partner for Porsche in developing an electric boat that delivers the power of a traditional powerboat.”
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, with its first examples set to be delivered to buyers this September, will be showcased both on land and in the water. Following development efforts over the past few months, Frauscher and Porsche are proud to announce further enhancements to the model’s performance: instead of the originally planned 550 Nm of torque, customers will now receive up to 700 Nm – alongside improved acceleration, the 400 kW propulsion system now achieves a top speed exceeding 49 knots.
New Production Area Dedicated to Electric Mobility
Frauscher boats are manufactured in Ohlsdorf, Austria, at one of Europe’s most modern shipyards, which saw a significant expansion of its production area in 2024. The upcoming Cannes boat show provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate this enhanced production capacity.
The shipyard will utilize the additional space to further concentrate on building electric boats, thus sending a clear message for sustainable mobility on the water. The most emblematic example is indeed the new Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air.
Design That Brings Innovation to Life
Another highlight on display at Cannes is the Frauscher 1212 Ghost Air. With its spacious layouts, this powerboat redefines the onboard experience, both on deck and inside, while maintaining Frauscher’s unmistakable design—enhanced with a lightweight carbon T-top available on demand—and its superior handling. The model has already garnered public and media attention, receiving accolades in Genoa (Design Innovation Award) and Berlin (Best of Boats).
Frauscher also showcases its design expertise by unveiling the Frauscher 1017 GT Second Generation, making its debut at Cannes. This restyled model of the most successful powerboat in its class first premiered earlier this year and takes inspiration from its larger sibling, the Frauscher 1414 Demon, blending dynamic lines with side hull vents, expansive luxurious spaces, and stunning performance.
This top-tier model also introduces a fantastic new feature: the boat now comes equipped with a hydraulic platform that can be lowered for sea access or raised for easier docking at taller piers. Due to its sturdy design and high weight capacity, the swim platform can also be utilized for transporting a jet ski.
Frauscher, along with its Italian dealer Cantiere Nautico Feltrinelli, will be present at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 10 to 15 at booth JETEE 015.
