The fourth hull in Perini Navi’s 60-meter sailing series has been launched at The Italian Sea Group’s (TISG) shipyard in Marina di Carrara, Italy. Named Katana, she now joins her sister ships Perseus 3, Seahawk, and Seven on the water. Delivery is expected in early 2025.
Initially known as Project C2239, the sailing yacht was conceived on speculation in 2016 in Viareggio and was sold a year into her construction. Work resumed on the yacht in 2022.
The build has been developed in collaboration with Ron Holland, who also oversaw the naval architecture. Equipped with carbon fiber masts, booms, and rigging, her sailing system has been “redesigned” to enhance ease of handling and improve performance. She also features a “latest generation dynamic positioning system,” enabling owners to position and maneuver the yacht without the use of an anchor.
Accommodation includes five guest cabins and a master suite, with interiors designed by renowned French designer Rémi Tessier. While full details are yet to be revealed, the shipyard has described the setting as “refined,” yet “without the need for ostentation.”

“The launch of this extraordinary 60-meter yacht is a milestone that fills us with pride and exemplifies the strength and continuous growth of the Group’s brands,” said Giovanni Costantino, TISG founder and CEO. “Perini Navi will continue to stand out for its distinctive style and ability to innovate without sacrificing tradition.”
This follows the shipyard’s latest financial report, which recorded revenues of €292 million – an increase of 11.4 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
