While many manufacturers are releasing new outboards with increased power, Evinrude is taking a different approach by introducing three new mid-range outboards to its E-TEC G2 series.
The company is adding the 115 H.O., 140 HP, and 150 HP models to its popular range of outboards, which features options from 3.5 to 300 horsepower. These outboards will be available for the 2020 model year.
“We are excited to uphold the tradition of Evinrude innovation in 2019 and beyond,” stated Tracy Crocker, president of the BRP Marine Group, in a press release. “By integrating the advanced E-TEC technology into the 115 H.O., 140 HP, and 150 HP models, which are some of the most sought-after outboard sizes on the market, we are again providing the peak of innovation and performance that instills confidence in every Evinrude owner as they enjoy their time on the water.”
The new models feature a direct injection inline three-cylinder powerhead, which Evinrude claims enhances running quality and ensures quiet operation. All E-TEC G2 models are said to be emissions compliant globally, according to Evinrude.

Evinrude has stated that its new E-TEC G2 models incorporate next-generation technology, including digital shift and throttle, an iTrim control system, and optional iSteer power steering for outboards ranging from 115 H.O. to 300 horsepower.
The E-Tec G2 series will receive updates for 2020, featuring new premium graphics and offering customers the choice between white or slate gray frames, along with two new propellers. Evinrude has announced that its 115 H.O. and 140 models will offer premium controls and gauges, in addition to a tiller option.
Evinrude will produce these engines in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and offers a warranty of five years or 500 hours on the engines. At the time of the announcement, Evinrude did not provide specific details for the new outboards; however, they are anticipated to weigh similarly to other outboards in the E-Tec G2 series.
