A leading custom boat manufacturer on the West Coast is entering the center-console segment. DCB Performance Boats is set to introduce a 42-foot center console in the spring of 2020. Renowned for its high-performance catamarans, this center-console will become the first V-bottom model in the company’s offerings. The DCB 42’ CC is projected to measure 42’2” in length and have a beam of 11’6”.
The standard power for the DCB 42’ CC consists of four Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboards. Additionally, this new model can be outfitted with three, four, or five outboards on the transom. The base price for this model, without the paint finish, is expected to be in the mid-$700,000 range.
To design the new center console, DCB Performance Boats collaborated with SFG Yacht Design, based in Dubai. The fabrication of the hull and deck plugs, along with various inserts, will utilize CNC technology.
The construction method will mirror that of the company’s catamarans, employing a unique resin infusion and vacuum-bag system known as Vacuum Infused Resin (VIR).
