Named The Bright Young, Celine’s Spring/Summer 2025 menswear line explores a different dimension of its vibrant cinematic universe. Drawing inspiration from Evelyn Waugh’s novel Vile Bodies, SS25 captures the transient elegance and sophistication of London’s elite society following World War I.

Showcased as a film, the collection unfolds in the walled gardens of Holkham Hall, Norfolk. This Neo-Palladian estate, home to the Earls of Leicester, serves as a stunning backdrop to illustrate Celine’s contrasting vision of imperial elegance and youthful indulgence. The exquisite gravel paths, perfectly maintained gardens, and grand marble structures impart a regal essence to Celine’s tailoring. Crisp and vivid in imagery, the theme of this presentation conveys a statuesque and dignified feel—reminiscent of a formal broadcast.

Featuring horses, Etonian students, and aristocratic lineages, SS25 may initially seem costume-like due to its striking set and evident styling choices, notably with Eton graduate Harry Lloyd Yorke opening the show. True to Celine’s essence, the collection’s enchantment lies in the blend of craftsmanship and narrative. Once simplified beyond its stylized embellishments, the intricate weave of Celine’s signature elements becomes apparent. With references to 20th-century military apparel, the Celine patches are crafted with polished silver cannetilles. Cricket and sailing blazers are made from luxurious summer cashmeres and wools rather than canvas, for a sumptuous touch.
