CES

In January at CES 2020, Brunswick Corp. showcased the future of boating with the innovative Fathom e-Power system, a concept helm featuring an advanced consumer interface that utilizes gesture and voice recognition.

This concept helm was first presented on the striking round Sea Ray SLX-R 400e, but the technology is expected to soon be available on the latest center-console boats equipped with Mercury engines.

“The feedback from our exhibit was phenomenal,” remarked Dave Foulkes, CEO of Brunswick Corp. “Visitors from around the globe were amazed by our array of new technologies. CES 2020 further illustrated Brunswick’s dedication to leveraging technology and innovative business models to transform the marine consumer experience.”

During the event and its related activities, tens of thousands of attendees experienced Brunswick’s cutting-edge, user-focused development capacities that provide tech integration akin to advanced mobility experiences in the automotive and aerospace sectors, rapidly advancing in Autonomy/ADAS, Connectivity, Electrification, and Shared-Access models.

“We knew CES would highlight Brunswick’s capabilities on an international platform,” Foulkes stated. “Our team is thrilled about our involvement at CES and looks forward to displaying our rapidly progressing technologies and competencies again next year.”

The brand-new Sea Ray SLX-R 400e Outboard integrates state-of-the-art technology with high-performance propulsion. The “e” in the SLX-R 400e signifies a groundbreaking electrification feature – the Fathom e-Power system. Created by Brunswick, the Fathom system features a high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack and an intuitive power management system that powers all the boat’s accessories, providing boaters with a smart, convenient means to enjoy the boat’s features for longer, quieter, and more eco-friendly outings on the water.

The SLX-R 400e Outboard is driven by triple Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines and boasts Mercury’s Joystick Piloting for Outboards, as well as NextWave innovations like Quiet Ride and Dynamic Running Surface.

Additional features include an exclusive helm display with Dual Digital Dash NSO evo3 16-inch screens, top-tier systems from Simrad, and a top-notch FUSION Apollo RA770 marine audio system featuring a touchscreen for premier sound technology. The boat also includes the Sea Ray Connect remote monitoring system, powered by NAUTIC-ON.
