The winners of the 2024 DAME Award have been revealed, with a new lifejacket taking the top honor in Amsterdam, where the ceremony is held every year.

Sailing gear was prominently featured among the 2024 DAME Award winners, announced on the morning of Tuesday, November 19, 2024, during a stunning opening ceremony to kick off Metstrade 24, the largest annual exhibition for the marine industry, in Amsterdam.

A panel of expert judges selected 58 new products from 28 nations to determine the outstanding designs for new boating products recently released to the global marine market.

The Overall Winner of the competition was named as TeamO’s remarkable Offshore 150N Hi-Lift Lifejacket & Harness, which the ten-member jury called “a revolutionary redesign of lifejacket technology.”

The Yanmar E saildrive secured victory in the Propulsion Category, alongside a newly created Environmental Award. The judges expressed their admiration for how the Yanmar E saildrive provides yacht owners with an ‘easy transition to electric main propulsion.’

Other distinguished sailing category winners included Raymarine’s RSW wired smart wind transducer (in the Navigation and Communication category), which automatically adjusts for pitch, roll, mast twist, and sail upwash; and Karver Systems’ KJS12 rope clutch, which the jury praised for its “meticulous attention and durable construction for enhanced longevity, decreased rope wear, and improved usability.”

A comprehensive summary of all the DAME Awards winners and nominees will feature in Yachting Monthly’s February 2025 edition.

Metstrade 24 is taking place at RAI Amsterdam from November 19-21, showcasing over 1,500 exhibitors across 11 extensive halls.
