A chase boat associated with the impressive 67.5-meter superyacht Loon has unfortunately crashed onto the rocky shores of Anse des Cayes Bay in Saint Barthélemy, located in the Caribbean.
Among the 11 American nationals on board, six individuals sustained injuries. Notably, one woman was reportedly “ejected” from the vessel upon impact. She is scheduled to be airlifted to a hospital in Miami this coming Sunday, December 22, while the other five individuals are being treated at Iréne de Bruyn Hospital for relatively minor injuries.
According to local reports, around twenty firefighters swiftly responded to the scene, accompanied by three ambulances to ensure everyone’s safety and health.
The chase boat, named Reel Time, is part of HCB Yachts’ 53′ Sueños RXV series. It boasts an impressive length overall (LOA) of 16.2 meters, four powerful engines, and features a fully equipped fishing platform along with a galley kitchen.
Authorities have assured that there is “no risk of pollution,” meaning that the removal of the chase boat is not considered an urgent matter at this time. The identity of the driver has yet to be confirmed.
