Soon after the largest fleet of solo sailors embarked on the iconic Vendée Globe Race, the non-stop race around the globe, two massive 32m long Ultim trimarans with full teams launched their separate attempts to establish a new record for circling the planet and claim the Jules Verne Trophy.

SVR Lazartigue and Sodebo began their journey two weeks after the IMOCA fleet, yet their astonishing speed could potentially allow them to surpass the Vendée competitors and finish weeks ahead of the frontrunner.

We take a look inside each of their campaigns as they strive to break the ultimate record.

Additionally, we cover the inaugural event of the 2025 SailGP season in Dubai, and Matt Sheahan boards one of the most renowned and extensively raced ocean racing classics, Kialoa II.

As usual, Docktalk is filled with updates on new boats, superyachts, a new performance academy, and much more.
