When Sir Ben Ainslie and INEOS Britannia surged through the Louis Vuitton Cup final and into the America’s Cup Match for the first time in 60 years, it marked a historic moment for British sailing.
Regardless of whether the Challengers of Record can defeat the formidable Kiwis, they should take great pride in their achievements during this campaign.
The British challenger ending those 60 years of disappointment also felt significant for Cyclops Marine, as our stories have been closely linked throughout our brief history. Some of our earliest wireless load sensors were developed in collaboration with the former INEOS Team UK during the 36th America’s Cup campaign.
This year, Cyclops Marine marks its 5th anniversary of trading. So much has changed in this short span of time. During the 37th America’s Cup/Challenger Series, our technology has been utilized by most of the teams. It also played a role for the majority of Olympic federations ahead of Paris 2024 and will be featured across the Vendee Globe fleet for their departure on November 10th. Cyclops has become a truly global brand, with 80% of our load sensors exported to international markets, yet we remain proud of our British heritage and strongly support our team in Barcelona. We especially commend one of our standout Cyclops sailors, Dylan Fletcher Scott, who has been an early supporter of Cyclops, using our sensors on his Moth and 49er.
Dylan and the rest of the team are making us proud, and we wish them the best of luck as they work to overcome the challenge against Emirates Team New Zealand—there’s still a long way to go.
