The eagerly awaited Caribbean Multihull Challenge is back this year with an exhilarating weekend filled with entertainment and sailing-centered events.

Participants can look forward to the Boardwalk Jamboree, a lively celebration of local music and culture, alongside engaging activities for captains and crew. The Caribbean Multihull Challenge will feature a comprehensive schedule of Multihull racing, ensuring sailing fans have great views throughout the weekend. Rally participants will also push their limits in time trials, adding extra competition for rally enthusiasts. With a range of activities, this year’s event offers something for everyone, from casual onlookers to experienced rally participants.

A new addition on January 30 – the opening day of the CMC Rally – participating boats will sail into Great Bay to enjoy a full day of events in Philipsburg, the capital of Dutch Sint Maarten.

Activities will kick off at noon with up to 12 – 24′ Diam Open Trimaran Sportboats racing in a Grand-Prix style along the beach near the Boardwalk, which is lined with numerous bars and restaurants. Following this, at 3:00 PM, the attention will shift to the newly established Beach Sports Park, where organized contests like Tug O’ War, Beach Volleyball, Beach Soccer, and more will take place. At 6:00 PM, there will be a formal prize-giving ceremony for the day’s winners, followed by a Grand Party featuring specials at all participating venues, along with a Parade of Carnival Dancers.

At 9:00 PM, CMC sailors, local residents, and visitors can enjoy a spectacular fireworks show sponsored by Bobby’s Marina, Dock Maarten Marina, Port St Maarten, St Maarten Tourism, and more.

CMC VII will introduce the second year of the innovative Time Trials for Cruising Multihulls™, where Rally skippers compete in a safe collision-free environment, engaging in point-to-point speed sailing from one rally destination to another before joining the evening festivities at their chosen Rally venue.

The racing will include a repeat of the FKG Trifecta™, featuring a 60-mile Sprint around St. Barth’s, a 52-mile Dash to Saba and back, and a 27-mile Circle Race around SXM. These three races, along with two additional ones, will create a full five-race schedule for CSA 1 boats; all other classes will experience a variety of races overseen by returning Race Officer Chris Mansfield from Antigua.

In 2025, maxi multihulls measuring 60′ and longer will debut in the 2025 IMA Maxi-Multihull Caribbean Series, which comprises the CMC, the RORC Caribbean 600, the 45-year-old Heineken Regatta, and the Spring BVI Regatta.

Grand-Prix small-sailboat racing, long-distance big-boat racing, and round-the-buoys races for CSA 2, 3, and 4 classes will provide four days of warm-water competition for all participants. Meanwhile, cruising multihulls will anchor overnight in Simpson and Great Bays on the Dutch side, Anse Marcel on the French side, culminating in an unforgettable Saturday night in St Barth’s, before returning to the Sint Maarten Yacht Club for a Grand Finale celebration.
