2024 J/105 North American Championship at Edgewater Yacht Club – Day 3

Terry McLaughlin & Rod Wilmer’s Mandate has risen to first place on the leaderboard at the J/105 North American Championship, sponsored by The British Virgin Islands, held in Cleveland, OH.
Three additional races were completed on Saturday in winds ranging from 8-12 knots amidst choppy seas, bringing the total to eight races. Mandate recorded finishes of 5, 2, and 2 for a total of 25 points in the no-discard series. Bill Zartler’s Deja Voodoo topped the day with finishes of 3, 3, and 1, placing second overall with 28 points. Tim Russell’s Ne*Ne follows closely in third, three points behind. Racing will conclude Sunday.
Russell’s Ne*Ne achieved their third victory of the Championship in the sixth race, closely followed by James Rathbun’s Hey Jude and Zartler’s Deja Voodoo. The next victory on Saturday went to Bruce Stone & Nicole Breault’s Arbitrade, with Mandate and Deja Voodoo rounding out the top three. Zartler’s Deja Voodoo led the 26-boat fleet back to the dock, followed by McLaughlin & Wilmer’s Mandate and Rathbun’s Hey Jude.
