Turkish shipyard Turquoise Yachts has unveiled the first exterior renderings of Wildcat, a 42-meter sailing yacht currently being built at the shipyard’s facilities in Pendik, Turkey. Delivery is scheduled for Spring 2025.
Wildcat is constructed on an unfinished Perini Navi hull that was originally planned to be the second unit of the Italian shipyard’s E-volution series. Its exterior features clean, minimalist lines and a carbon fiber structure, including the superstructure, deckhouse, and other outfitting elements. This project is a collaboration between Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design and Southern Spars New Zealand.
The vessel is sloop-rigged with a 62.5-meter Panamax carbon mast and a carbon boom, equipped with an in-boom furling system for the mainsail. The sails are operated through systems based on PLC technology, while sheets and halyards are managed by three custom captive reel winches from Harken and three furlers from Bamar. Notable features include an impressive sail area of 2,204 square meters, an aluminum hull, and a lifting keel.
Accommodations are designed for up to eight guests, consisting of a full-beam owner’s suite, one VIP cabin, and two twin cabins. Additionally, there are quarters for seven crew members. While specific interior details remain undisclosed, the design work comes from GCA Architects, based in Barcelona.
The sailing system has also been enhanced to “prioritize ease of use.”
Last week, Turquoise Yachts collaborated with British studio H2 Yacht Design on a new 56.5-meter concept known as Voyage.
