Submissions Announced for the ORC AGM in Singapore

From 1-5 November 2024, the Committee, Congress members, staff, and observers of the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC) will convene in Singapore for their Annual Meeting to discuss ideas and innovations aimed at enhancing the world’s premier measurement-based handicap system.
This process involves Submissions made by representatives from over 40 countries using the system, with these ideas assigned to relevant Committees based on the proposed topics. The Committees will discuss each Submission and then present their recommendations to the Congress for approval, after which the Staff will update the new rules and policies in December for enforcement in early January 2025.
The suggestions range from very technical – such as extending the ORC VPP down to 4 knots of true wind speed (USA 7) – to practical improvements like creating more suitable class splits for ORC Double Handed championship events (SWE 3). All proposals will be evaluated and debated in Singapore.
