Silent Yachts is thrilled to showcase its new Silent 62 3-Deck Open at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, marking the first public presentation of this stunning electric catamaran.

The design improves upon the successful Silent 62, featuring an open-sided third deck for entertaining and versatile accommodations. A streamlined hardtop offers shade over an area of 60 square meters that owners can customize to their liking, accommodating everything from plush sofas and dining tables to bar areas, gym equipment, and even a Jacuzzi.

“The Silent 62 3-Deck has gained popularity among boat owners, and the Open version effectively highlights the advantages of maximizing the space above,” stated Silent Yachts CEO Fabrizio Iarrera. “With sleek lines, over 240 square meters of usable deck area, and sharp modern aesthetics, this truly is a compact superyacht. Its electric operation and extensive solar array are the finishing touches.”

Skylounge

For warm regions like Florida and the Mediterranean, the Silent 62 3-Deck Open offers unprecedented appeal. The hardtop, supported by two legs and four pillars, provides unobstructed 360-degree views. It offers shade and allows for refreshing breezes to circulate for the owner and guests.

This initial model features a three-stool wet bar at the heart of the skylounge, surrounded by comfy sofas upholstered in durable, weatherproof Sunbrella fabric. High-low tables serve the area, transitioning from relaxed coffee/cocktail settings to elegant dining experiences. However, typical of Silent Yachts, nearly any owner’s request can be accommodated.

Indoor-Outdoor Area

The term ‘cockpit’ does not really apply to this yacht, as the twin helm stations are located on the flybridge and within the saloon. The main deck aft provides a spacious social setting for lounging and dining, complete with numerous built-in sofas. An optional grill and refrigerator are discreetly integrated, along with ample storage for cruising equipment.

Staircases lead down to the hull skirts, facilitating easy access to marina pontoons, either aft-to or beside. This area, paired with a teak-lined swimming platform, becomes an 8m-wide focal point for water sports, swimming, and relaxing by the water. The platform also functions as a tender lift, capable of hoisting and storing a boat weighing up to 500kg.

Expansive side decks guide towards the bow area, featuring either a forward lounge or a row of sunbeds on the low roof above the master cabin. In total, there are 75-80 square meters of exterior space at the main deck level.

Sliding doors and windows seamlessly connect the 50 square meter saloon, featuring an aft galley, to outdoor spaces. It is easy to serve food to those in the cockpit, maintaining the conversation’s continuity. Generous counter space is provided by units on both port and starboard sides. Further forward, an L-shaped sofa curves around a smartly extendable table, seating up to eight. At the push of a button, the table can lower to function as a coffee table or convert into a spacious day bed/TV lounge with some cushions added.

Two well-padded pilot seats to starboard offer excellent visibility ahead and to either side, with all navigational controls easily accessible. A fully equipped helm station is located at the forefront of the skylounge.

Stealth Mode Is Always Active

Central to the Silent Yachts concept is electric propulsion, with the new Silent 62 3-Deck highlighting its benefits. Twin electric motors can be specified up to 340kW in strength. The more powerful motors correspond with a larger battery bank, which can reach up to 286kWh. However, they consistently incorporate high-quality lithium-ion cells with a robust management system to ensure optimal performance and safety.

All models cruise at a respectable 6-8 knots, while the top speed varies depending on the selected power package.

Harnessing Solar Energy

Solar energy is another fundamental element of Silent Yachts. With a sizable 16.8kW solar panel array, the yacht can generate sufficient energy to meet much of the daily hotel load. The panels are positioned on the hardtop and the forward overhang of the superstructure for optimal sun exposure.

This design minimizes the need for generator use and allows for silent overnight anchoring. “This capability to capture considerable solar energy fundamentally transforms the yachting experience,” noted Steve Bell, Vice Chairman of the Board. “Our expanding group of owners consistently emphasizes the yacht’s silent operation as one of its most appealing features.”

Naturally, the yacht’s quiet operation shifts the focus onto the quality of life onboard. Silent Yachts has developed an impressive in-house design team to refine the boat’s lines, interior layouts, and style.

Option for Forward Saloon Door

Owners can choose between a forward exit from the saloon to a recessed forward lounge or a spacious central master cabin spanning the twin hulls on the lower deck. The Front Exit option is popular among other models, and Silent Yachts anticipates similar favor for the Silent 62 3-Deck. It provides owners with a delightful shaded seating area and a raised sunbed offering spectacular views of the anchorage. The sturdy sea-tight door provides convenient access to the front of the saloon, where a large sofa area is positioned to port and the helm station to starboard.

Central Owner’s Stateroom Option

Alternatively, the Front Master cabin option replaces the forward lounge with a magnificent central owner’s cabin. It provides ample headroom and exceptional views ahead through a wide raised window section spanning the cabin’s entire width. With its dedicated companionway, this private retreat features a large bathroom with separate shower, heads, and basins, along with plentiful hanging and storage space.

There is additional capacity for three well-sized double cabins: two on the port side and one on the starboard. Each cabin is bright with natural light and equipped with ensuite bathrooms, always featuring separate showers and heads. In total, the Front Master version of the Silent 62 3-Deck provides 63 square meters of cabin space. The Front Exit version offers 56 square meters, organized with two cabins in each hull, while the owner’s cabin maintains its private companionway.

Owners can select from various interior styling options. The initial Silent 62 3-Deck Open features a modern blend of cream-toned leather headlining, gray upholstery, and natural wood cabinetry and flooring. Modern porcelain and stainless-steel fixtures in the bathrooms, along with high-quality galley appliances, enhance reliability and provide an elegant aesthetic.

On a vessel of this size and capability, storage is vital, and the Silent 62 3-Deck offers ample room. Lockers, racks, and shelves line the yacht, but the most significant storage area consists of 11 square meter bins that occupy the entire bow. Items such as paddleboards, SeaBobs, kite sails, and spare parts can be easily stored here. The cockpit also includes substantial under-seat storage, as well as deep lockers integrated into the deck.
