Do you like visiting used boat exhibitions? The upcoming Southampton Used Boat Show and Dorset Used Boat Show, scheduled for September 13th to 22nd, present a perfect opportunity for you.
Yacht broker boatpoint is hosting two used boat shows that align with the Southampton International Boat Show. These events provide a platform for buyers and sellers of used boats to connect and check out a variety of high-quality pre-owned vessels.
Sellers will incur a ‘£400 listing fee for boats up to 10 metres and £480 for boats up to 12 metres’, which boatpoint guarantees comes with extra advantages. If you’re not interested in selling but want to browse, both events feature personalized guidance from boatpoint professionals.
Southampton Used Boat Show
From September 13th to 22nd, 2024, the Southampton Used Boat Show will take place at Deacons Marina, Bursledon, coinciding with the Southampton International Boat Show (SIBS) in Mayflower Park. The proximity of the show to SIBS makes it convenient for attendees to stop by without missing an extensive array of used boats.
Deacons Marina, nestled along the River Hamble, is an easily accessible location, with Bursledon train station nearby if you’re not driving. The station includes a small parking area, making it a good idea to take the train to evade traffic congestion. Should you feel hungry after exploring the boats, a nearby pub, The Jolly Sailor, established in 1751, offers riverside views of the Hamble and the marina.

Dorset Used Boat Show
Simultaneously, the Dorset Used Boat Show will occur at Portland Marina from September 13th to 22nd. Boatpoint assures that this event will ‘showcase a variety of boats suitable for all interests and budgets’.
Portland Marina is adjacent to the 18-mile-long Chesil Beach, famous for being an excellent spot for fossil hunting. Therefore, if you have some spare time after the show, you can enjoy a sea-side stroll (weather permitting!).
If you wish to turn your visit to the used boat show into a vacation, nearby attractions include the 1540s Portland Castle, the Olympic rings statue, and even a Portland Alpaca trekking experience. For history buffs, the D-Day Centre & WW2 Museum offers an opportunity to enhance your WWII understanding.
