All American Marine (AAM), based in Bellingham, Washington, has announced the delivery of a new 74-foot catamaran patrol boat to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Law Enforcement Division. This 74-foot by 27.5-foot twin-engine hydrofoil-assisted catamaran is tailored for near coastal and offshore missions, supporting partner agencies in various operations. Such missions encompass multi-day patrols, inspections and recovery of commercial gear, fishery enforcement, and patrols of marine protected areas. Furthermore, the vessel is engineered to enhance capabilities in challenging sea conditions, conduct dive operations, and ensure thorough law enforcement and protection along the California coastline.

The vessel employs Teknicraft’s advanced dynamic hydrofoil system, which reduces drag, improves fuel efficiency, and offers superior stability and comfort for passengers. It is powered by two Cat C-18 diesel engines, each providing 800 horsepower, enabling the boat to reach a cruise speed of 24.5 knots when fully laden, and attain a top speed of 27 knots. With a substantial 2,000-gallon fuel capacity, this vessel boasts extended operational range and endurance.

Integrated between the aft sponsons is a Teknicraft Rapid RHIB launching and retrieval system, which enhances safety and minimizes the manpower and time needed to deploy the rigid hull inflatable boat, enabling deployment and retrieval in under a minute. The electronics package of the boat features a FLIR M364C-LR High-Resolution Thermal Imaging camera with tracking capabilities to aid in vessel monitoring and the identification of violators along the coast. The vessel is outfitted with cutting-edge navigation, communication, and enforcement technologies, including a complete set of Furuno electronic systems. These technologies also have potential applications for oceanographic and biological research.

The design of the boat includes ample deck space for the seizure of illegal traps, comfortable accommodations for up to 10 personnel, and the ability to carry additional passengers during day operations. The vessel is built to adhere to U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Subchapter T standards.

“This vessel marks a significant enhancement in marine patrol functions for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife,” stated Ron Wille, President and COO of All American Marine. “We are privileged to have collaborated with the CDFW in constructing this state-of-the-art patrol boat, which will strengthen their enforcement capabilities and improve their operational efficiency, especially with the groundbreaking Rapid RHIB Deployment System from Teknicraft, which will optimize CDFW operations.”
