The innovative digital system is designed to simplify the process for visiting sailors to acquire the Greek Transit Log, which is mandatory for all private foreign-flagged recreational vessels longer than 7m.
The Greek Transit Log for private foreign-registered vessels entering Greece is now accessible online.
The criteria for obtaining a Greek Transit Log remain unchanged; however, instead of acquiring one upon arrival from Customs, boat owners can now apply online.
A Greek Transit Log is required for all private pleasure boats exceeding a total length of 7m.
Boat owners who can prove the status of Union Goods (i.e., EU VAT paid) on their vessels will be issued a Transit Log of Unlimited Duration (UTL).

Non-Union Goods vessels will receive a limited Transit Log valid for 18 months and will continue to be required to check in and out as previously mandated.
The transition to a digital log system is expected to facilitate the process for skippers entering Greece, although reports of some “functionality glitches” have already emerged.
In such cases, sailors may still obtain a Transit Log from Customs upon arrival.
A Transit Log can be requested via the digital portal myAADE (myaade.gov.gr) under Applications > Customs Services >
Transit Log.
This new digital log will also assist Greek authorities in monitoring visiting yachts more efficiently.
