Designova Creative unveils a 65m “light explorer” concept inspired by cyborgs.

Designova Creative + Associates Innovation Consultancy, an American design studio, has introduced an eye-catching concept called Project Javelin, inspired by cyborg aesthetics.

Crafted by J. David Weiss, the president and founder of the studio, this superyacht is being touted as a “new yacht” that aims to break away from traditional norms.

Dubbed a “light-explorer” superyacht, Project Javelin emerged from ongoing conversations Weiss had with clients who expressed a desire for longer vessels that offer lower volume and enhanced versatility.

Measuring 65 meters, this innovative superyacht features an “open” design intended for quick and effortless use, making it perfect for spontaneous adventures.

With its low and sleek silhouette that mirrors the agility of its namesake, Project Javelin boasts a 9.5-meter beam that provides generous exterior spaces for relaxation and entertainment, including a spacious multi-craft landing pad and a Jacuzzi situated on the aft deck.

Inside, the layout is designed to adapt to various needs, accommodating everything from gear for “heliskiing one week to family-oriented island hopping the next.” The design studio has proposed two distinct interior configurations: one showcases a sizable owner’s suite along with storage for toys and cargo instead of VIP cabins, while the other leans towards a more traditional setup with VIP suite accommodations.

“Project Javelin embodies a vibrant new chapter, and we’re excited to explore what the next steps in this evolution will bring,” Weiss remarked.

This concept is adaptable for either diesel or hybrid propulsion, featuring a fast displacement hull form that can be customized for each owner and their crew’s varying demands. Additionally, its shallow draft enhances its potential for “light-explorer” cruising, providing seamless navigation in shallow waters like those found in the Caribbean.
