Race 1:
NZL began as the most leeward boat with GBR positioned just to windward. GBR tacked towards the starboard boundary and took the lead before reaching it.
Mark 1: GBR; ITA (+12 sec); ITA (+12 sec); NZL (+33 sec), USA (+37 sec), SUI (+49 sec), FRA –
Italy lost their foils shortly after rounding Mark 1, dropping to the back of the fleet.
Mark 2: GBR (08 m 16 sec); NZL (+58 sec); USA (+99 sec), SUI (103 sec)
Mark 3: GBR (13 m 16 sec); NZL (+76 sec); SUI (+134 sec)
