27 September – 4 October 2024
Today marked the second day of racing at the 2024 Melges 24 European Championship in Split, organized by JK Split along with the International Melges 24 Class Association (IM24CA). However, the day was postponed due to insufficient wind conditions.
A total of 41 boats were prepared to race, yet Principal Race Officer Marko Mišura decided to cancel the day’s events. Racing is set to continue on Wednesday at noon with the championship’s third race.
Following two races in light winds on the first day, Cuyler Morris’ Dark Horse (USA) is currently in the lead, just one point ahead of Andrea Racchelli’s Altea (ITA), and three points clear of Ivan Kljakovic Gašpic’s Universitas Nova (CRO). In the Corinthian division, the reigning world champions and current Corinthian World Champions, Mataran 24 (CRO), helmed by Ante Botica, maintain their lead in the rankings.
